You'...Keep on taking the photos and submitting. You've nothing to lose. Just remember that Alamy is very heavily editorial oriented. Look at what books, magazines and papers use and submit photos that fit that genre rather than commercial or advertising stock.

Like you I'm feeling my way through the stock photography quagmire. There is always a market for photos - but finding what it is is always difficult. Having said that I'm primarily taking the photos to support my writing. Might as well try and make some money from them as well. It then becomes synergistic. Offering editors and publishers both text and guaranteed quality photographs is a more powerful argument for their using your work rather than that of other potential contributors.

Oh, and since I wrote this I've had 3 more sales. Not for great amounts - but it's building up.Trainer Johnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00777701301974490461noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-583458903794761018.post-78572668954804500382014-09-22T06:05:47.129-07:002014-09-22T06:05:47.129-07:00First of all thanks for sharing!

I will try to buid up a portfolio there to the next years as far as possible. Don't have that much time besides my studies and daytime job.

Just wanted to give it a try as i've read on the shutterstock forum that it's might worth it.

I am also submitting to several other well-known stock agencies since 1,2 years. On Shutterstock e.g. i have more than 1000 download with not even 200 Images online. If over the years the Portfolio on Alamy will return me an additional amount of money comparable to what I get on others, this would be great for me.PyranhaPhotographyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08831297181509311463noreply@blogger.com
